Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Italian Open 2022, bringing up his first title of the year in the process. With a 6-0, 7-6(5) victory, the World No.1 lifted his trophy in Rome, as well as his record-extending 38th Masters 1000 title. The tennis sensation has been working to find top form after missing the majority of the early-season schedule because his unvaccinated against COVID-19, which made him ineligible to compete at many events, including the Australian Open. Djokovic didn’t drop a single set across five matches to win the tournament. Sharing few pictures from his winning moment, the Serbian tennis sensation wrote in caption, “Not too bad 🤌🏼😍🏆 Nothing but grateful for this amazing week and everyone’s support. I have felt immense love being in Roma @internazionalibnlditalia.” Meanwhile, Djokovic became the fifth man in history to reach 1,000 Tour wins as he defeated Norway’s Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-3 in the Italian Open semifinals.
