Campervan ‘explodes’ in Scots neighbourhood as firefighters battle blaze

Firefighters have rushed to a house in an Aberdeenshire town after a campervan reportedly exploded in its driveway.

Crews descended on the property in Peterhead’s Henderson Circle at around 2.30pm.

Aberdeen Live reports that residents reported hearing a “bang” before witnessing the motorhome burst into flames.

The fire then spread to the adjacent house on the western side of the fishing town, prompting firefighters to step inside to extinguish the blaze.

Pictures from the scene show fire services tackling the blaze with hose reel jets.

No-one is reported to have been injured as a result of the blast.

However, the house has been extensively damaged.

Part of the dwelling’s roof appears to have collapsed inwards as a result of the inferno.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.53pm on Sunday, April 17 to reports of a van on fire at Henderson Circle in Peterhead.
