Six Senses is right in the middle of a hotel boomand now the brand is expanding its presence in Italy with upcoming properties in two iconic destinations.
The company, which is owned by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has partnered with Italian real estate company Gruppo Statuto to deliver new hotel complexes in the bustling city of Milan and on the idyllic shores of Lake Como. The news comes after the company launched an outpost in RomeIt is Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini last year and the opening of Six Sens Antognolla in Umbria.
“Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both serve a purpose,” explains Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, in a press release. “The former is intentionally scaled and designed for attentive hospitality and holistic well-being within one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a serene escape among the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away.
The next Six Senses Milan is expected to welcome its guests in 2025 at 19 Via Brera, in the Brera artistic district. The hotel will be located next to the Pinacoteca museum, one of the largest and most important art galleries in Italy. In total, the lavish property will feature 68 rooms, including 15 lavish suites, two of which feature private plunge pools. Guest rooms and public spaces will be awash with arabescato marble, antique brass details, handmade smoked glass, textured ceilings and mosaic borders. Additionally, guests can enjoy the serene spa, a chic rooftop bar, an expansive panoramic swimming pool, and a specialty restaurant serving seasonal dishes.
Six Senses is also set to open a location on Lake Como in 2028 in Cadenabbia di Griante, a small village that has attracted everyone from monarchs including Queen Victoria to writers such as Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Mary Shelley. The six-story complex, which overlooks the water, will take over the former Grand Hotel Cadenabbia. The historic villa is undergoing a complete restoration and will be transformed into a five-star Six Senses property.
The new hotel will draw inspiration from the region’s rich heritage and its connections to art, history and nature. Nestled among picturesque gardens, it will offer 102 rooms and suites. As for amenities, guests will find a floating pool on the lake and a sun terrace for lounging. Additionally, you can admire the view from the on-site restaurant or the terrace bar on the fourth floor.
