The 10-1 Kansas City Chiefs have found a way to be competitive against all levels of NFL competition this season. They had close victories against the playoff-contending Ravens, Chargers and Broncos, as well as the cellar-dwelling Panthers, Bengals and Raiders. This team is finding a way, and with a defense that has terrorized opposing quarterbacks this season – the Chiefs lead the NFL in QB knockdown rate and are third in pressure rate – it will be a challenge tall for Aidan O’Connell, who is returning from a thumb injury and expected to replace Gardner Minshew, who was ruled out for the season with a broken collarbone last Sunday.
The Chiefs already beat the Raiders 27-20 in late October in Las Vegas, in a game where Patrick Mahomes threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns and Travis Kelce caught 10 passes for 90 yards and a score. The Chiefs aren’t just looking to win this week, they’re also looking to clinch a playoff spot. With Miami’s loss to the Packers last night, Kansas City can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight.
********* OR, IF MIAMI WINS *********
Kansas City can clinch a playoff spot by the end of the weekend with a win tonight and a Broncos loss to the Browns on Monday Night Football.
