At least three teams are watching Jake Evans
Marco D’Amico of RG.org: Teams have noticed Jake Evans’ consistency so far this season for the Montreal Canadiens.
A source said there was more interest in Jake Evans than Christian Dvorákbut I added:
“The Canadiens are in no rush to move Evans right now because he’s great for them on the penalty kill.”
Evans has five points this season and is one of their best penalty takers.
“I know of at least three teams that are paying close attention to Jake Evans right now,” the source said. “He’s playing some of his best hockey to start the season, he’s a leader and an ace on special teams. It’s also a contract year. Competing teams will seek this as a rental and will generally pay well.
The source added that the Canadiens are looking for a top-four right-handed defenseman. Canadians are ready to get creative. They have four picks in the first two rounds of the 2025 NHL Draft.
Brad Marchand It must be a Boston Bruin, right?

Colby Cohen: “With Marchand being an upcoming UFA this year, and, you know, watching Steven Stamkos“Going back night in Tampa, knowing how this situation played out, is there a possible scenario where we think Brad Marchand might not be a Boston Bruin next year?
Frank Seravalli: “I don’t see any. I mean, this guy is a Bruin at heart and soul. I think the way he’s grown and matured into this role as a leader of this team has been incredibly impressive.
He underwent significant work on his body this summer, three separate surgeries, and he is still an elite player.
Cohen: “Do you remember feeling differently about Steven Stamkos this time last year?
Seravalli: “No, I was the guy in June saying there was no way they were going to let him go. They had come straight to the altar when he was a 27 or 26 year old free agent.
He went there, he saw what was available to him and he said, “No, no, it’s okay. I want to be a Tampa Bay Lightning. This time I thought they would show and give him the same loyalty, but they didn’t.
