Shaftesbury Capital has announced that pioneering coffee brand Nespresso is to open a new location in Covent Garden. Located in a historic building on the corner of Piazza and Rue Henrietta, Nespresso will offer an immersive “home away from home” experience in one of the destination’s flagship units. The signing of this globally recognized brand reinforces Covent Garden’s position as a go-to destination for internationally renowned names looking to open flagship concept stores.
The new West End Nespresso boutique follows the closure of the Regent Street store at the end of 2024. The bright new space will open at 34 Henrietta Street in spring next year, offering an intimate discovery experience for coffee lovers on 1,345 square feet. Customers will be able to experience the wide variety of Nespresso tastes and flavors and browse the latest selection of coffee products, including capsules, machines and accessories. The store will include a dedicated space to highlight Nespresso’s progress in sustainability, as well as a place to drop off their capsules for recycling. The world’s leading coffee brand will celebrate the distinctive features of the historic building to create a bespoke, immersive boutique, reflecting Nespresso’s core values.
This latest signing illustrates Shaftesbury Capital’s commitment to future-proofing the area’s historic buildings, attracting world-class brands to key locations across the area. Nespresso joins several global brands that have chosen Covent Garden as their flagship locations, including tech giant Apple, cult beauty brand Glossier and luxury sportswear brand Alo Yoga.
William Oliver, Director of Retail Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, commented: “As the UK’s premier destination for world-class brand flagship locations, Nespresso’s commitment to open a new flagship store in Covent Garden is an ideal solution. Nespresso will add to the already extensive backdrop of innovative lifestyle brands in the Piazza and wider area, and will undertake significant investment in one of Covent Garden’s many historic buildings, revitalizing a key corner right in the heart of the destination.
Anna Lundstrom, CEO of Nespresso UK&I, said: “We are delighted to bring Nespresso to Covent Garden, a place rich in coffee culture and history. Today, Covent Garden thrives as a hub of modern British lifestyle, making it the perfect location for our latest store. Our unique retail space invites coffee lovers to come together, connect and explore the world of Nespresso, while discovering diverse coffee tastes and flavors in an inspiring setting designed to celebrate a shared passion for coffee.
