The time has come. After years of not traveling purely for pleasure, I went with a group of friends to Napa. We’ve been planning this trip for a while and we’re leaving tomorrow! We rented a house with a pool for a long weekend and we joke about how we’re going to emulate the coastal grandma vibe with our outfits.
But, seriously, I hate packing. I tend to put it off until the last minute, but this trip is different. I planned out the outfits on my Napa packing list in advance so that I can easily choose what pieces to wear for the different activities we plan to do.
One of the benefits of traveling with people who are good at organizing a diary is that we have detailed itineraries and plans made in advance. I’m someone who flies away often so this is really a treat. This also made packing easier. We visit a handful of wineries, two restaurants, and a spa, and we spend time at our rental property enjoying the pool and preparing a home-cooked meal. I planned outfits around these activities! It was a really fun way to decide what to bring.
Here are the main pieces on my Napa packing list!
1 and 2
Summersalt Effortless Shirt Dress and Palazzo Pants (Free)
Price: $80 each
This outfit is fluid, casual and chic! I’m thinking of wearing this shirt dress And these pants at the spa combined with the bodysuit below and a hair scarf. It’ll be comfortable enough to throw on after a relaxing facial and chic enough to wear to a vineyard later in the afternoon.
3
J. Crew Classic Button Down Shirt
Price: $80
You can never go wrong with a classic button! The shirt pictured above is similar to the one I own, just like this one. Personally, I like to size up for a loose fit, and I often buy them in the men’s section (or borrow one from Joe). I’ll throw it on over my swimsuit or while lounging around the house in the morning.
4
Top Mille Beja (free)
Price: $172
I intend to wear this top with my favorite mom jeans in a vineyard with low heel sandals. It’s a different fit for me and I can’t wait to try a new silhouette!
I bought my favorite mom jeans a year ago at H&M. The exact pair is no longer available but they have lots of similar styles in stock!
5
Maria Stanley Bodysuit
Price: $145
This body is perfect. It’s double-layered cotton, which means I can wear it without a bra and still have enough support. The square neckline is so flattering. I plan to wear it with the matching white set above and mom jeans as a backup outfit option.
6
Mille Adèle dress (free)
Price: $238
This dress is so comfortable and so pretty! I will most likely wear it the night we cook dinner at home.
7
Zara Hot Pink Mini Dress
Price: $36
I’ve found this dress during a visit to Zara at the mall. I grabbed it without trying it and was so glad I did. Most of all, I love the color, cut, and loose style (so I don’t have to think about eating or drinking too much while wearing it). I will wear this to dinner one night!
8
Sea Level bandeau one-piece swimsuit
Price: $110
I keep things simple when it comes to swimwear with this black numberpartly because I feel comfortable wearing it without an absolute tan.
For all the one-piece swimsuits I’ll be wearing this summer, go to this blog post!
9
Rifle Paper Co. x Summersalt Silky Pajama Set (Free)
Price: $125
These luxurious pajamas are so comfortable to sleep in and are also perfect for lounging around the house in the morning and evening.
