Co-op has partnered with Quadient to deliver increased parcel locker growth and increased convenience in its communities, it revealed today.

The partnership to provide Parcel Pending lockers by Quadient aligns Co-op’s footprint at the heart of local communities with the continued growth in consumer demand for safe, secure and convenient parcel lockers.

Quadient’s Parcel Pending is a growing network of smart lockers used for deliveries and returns from major carriers including Royal Mail, DPD, Evri and UPS, as well as new services such as convenient key handover with Keynest.

More than 30 Parcel Pending by Quadient lockers will initially be installed in Co-op stores, with the possibility of expanding the partnership. The first lockers will be visible this month in Co-op stores in Bedford; Bradford; Guildford; Keighley; Liverpool; Stockport; Swinton and Telford.

Multi-carrier parcel lockers are part of Co-op’s strategy to develop additional services and enhanced convenience – creating a compelling customer offering to ensure its stores are a convenient destination not just for groceries but for a range of services that meet the needs of local communities.

George Hayworth, Q-Comm Development Manager at Co-op, said: “We are delighted to partner with Quadient. Safe, secure and convenient parcel lockers are one of the ways we make things easier and provide added convenience for our member-owners and customers. With our stores conveniently located on high streets and transport hubs, university campuses and residential developments, parcel lockers can help local residents and time-strapped consumers collect or return their parcels at a time that suits them, quickly, easily and conveniently.

Katia Bourgeais-Crémel, Director of Locker Automation Europe at Quadient said: “We are proud to collaborate with the Co-op to introduce our open to their stores. This partnership allows us to offer Co-op customers a secure and efficient solution for managing parcel deliveries and returns. Our open locker network is accessible to multiple carriers including Royal Mail, DPD, Evri and UPS, providing even greater convenience than others on the market. Shoppers can easily pick up or return their packages at their convenience, whether during a grocery run or as part of their daily routine, making the process both simple and seamless.
