The Los Angeles Clippers may not have won their season opener last night… but even an 0-1 record couldn’t dampen fans’ enthusiasm for their new state-of-the-art home court. 2 billion dollars in Inglewood!
After years of construction, the Intuit Dome made its regular season basketball debut last night as the Clips hosted Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.
The man who owns the team and footed the massive bill for the project, Steve Ballmerwelcomed the fanbase as only he could! And needless to say, he was pretty excited.
“Let’s hear it, Clipper Nation! Turn it on! Let’s go!”

The building is breathtaking… it’s full of interesting technology, all intended to enhance the viewing experience for spectators. You don’t even need to have cash or a credit card to buy food and drinks.
But “The Wall” is perhaps the most interesting feature in the arena. Think of a student section: the wall consists of 51 rows of affordable seats, right behind the basket…creating an intimidating scene for opposing players shooting free throws.
Even though he was obviously a visitor, Kevin Durant was a big fan.
“Amazing. I loved it. I love the wall they got. It’s crazy.”

And it seems to have worked. KD missed two free throws against The Wall, but it wasn’t enough to stop Durant from leading the Suns to victory. He finished the game with 25 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
The Clips will now leave the friendly confines of Intuit — playing two away games — before returning home on October 30 where they will look to pick up their first win in the new digs!
