God of War is among Sonys longest-running franchises, spanning 7 mainline games across four consoles. The most current entry in the series was 2018s God of War, which served as a soft reboot of the franchise by introducing gamers to Atreus, the son of protagonist Kratos, and the pantheon of Norse gods.
