British soldier dies after horror fall from seventh floor at party in Poland hotel room | UK | News

The 25-year-old squaddie, who is yet to be named, was pronounced dead at the foot of the hotel in the Wola district of Warsaw. The incident happened at 3am this morning. In a statement the prosecutors office said: “Some of them participated in a meeting at which alcohol was consumed.

“During the meeting, one of the soldiers fell out of the seventh floor of the building as a result of which he died on the spot.”

An investigation into his death has been launched, The Sun reports.

A spokesman added: “Currently, operations to determine the circumstances of the incident; at this stage until the completion of activities with all the witnesses, we do not share more information regarding the course of the event and made arrangements in this regard.”

Photos of the hotel show it with eight floor in total.


Polish sources said there were “several dozen” having a party and “alcohol was consumed”.

No arrests have been made and the death is being treated as an accident.

The man was believed to be stationed in Warsaw as part of Battle Group Poland.

An spokesman for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said: “We can confirm that an incident has occurred in Warsaw on 01 August in which a service person from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers has died.

“The Serviceperson’s family have been informed. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends at this sad time.

“An investigation by the Polish Police supported by the Royal Military Police is underway into the incident, therefore it is inappropriate to comment further.”
